Gary Thornton
Founded in 1973 by Gary Thornton, Thornton & Co. has proudly served individuals, families, and small businesses in Winnipeg with personalized, professional accounting services. A Red River College graduate and Certified General Accountant (CGA), Gary was known for his practical expertise, strong client relationships, and dedication to community. He was also a respected accounting and tax lecturer with CGA Manitoba, earning both Life Member status and the prestigious Fellowship (FCGA) designation.
Gary sadly passed away in 2024, leaving behind his beloved wife, Joan, and a lasting legacy. Today, his eldest son, Todd Thornton, leads the firm with the same values it was built on. His daughter Tara manages the day-to-day operations, and many of Gary’s grandchildren are now involved- continuing the tradition of a family-run business where clients are treated like family.
